UKIPT5 Nottingham: Fill your boots with Footgolf, Beer pong and more

At the beginning of every EPT stop the President of the EPT - Edgar Stuchly - takes to the stage and gives a brief introduction. Among his key messages he always says: "We wish you a successful time at the tables and a fun time off them." It's an ethos that's been adopted on the UKIPT where the tour has always been about having a good craic at the felt and an even better time should you bust out. In the past there's been Go Karting trips, activity days and more on the tour.

With that in mind the UKIPT Hotels team have lined up some fantastic activities for anyone playing in the UKIPT5 Nottingham Poker Series which began yesterday and runs until Sunday 19th April.

Golf is a popular pastime with poker players and even more so with football players. It's no surprise then that in 2006 a bright spark came up with the idea of Footgolf. The premise is much the same as golf, but instead of using clubs and a golf ball you use your feet and a football. The advantages over golf are clear, all you need are a pair of trainers and a spare couple of hours as Footgolf takes less time to play than golf.

Do you think Negreanu would be any good at Footgolf?

If that takes your fancy then the date you need to mark in your diary is midday Saturday, it'll cost £25 to play and PokerStars are giving a £330 Nottingham Cup seat to the player who shoots the lowest round.

If you think your hand eye coordination skills are as good as your poker smarts then perhaps the Sherwood Forest Adventure trip will be more your thing. For the price of £70 we'll provide transport to the legendary Sherwood Forest where you can pull off your best Robin Hood impression in the archery competition. After that you'll have the chance to hop behind the wheel of a 4x4 vehicle for a spot of off-roading...whilst blindfolded. Yes blindfolded. If you survive that then you'll finish off the day with a knife throwing competition. All supervised by professionals of course. This too takes place on Saturday.

Last but not least if you prefer to get your competitive juices flowing in an indoor activity - not a long shot given you like poker - then we're also hosting a Beer pong competition. That'll take place at The Victory Pub at the Village Urban Resort Hotel on both Friday and Saturday night and is sure to be great fun.
