When Chris Moneymaker traveled across the USA throughout 2018 with his Moneymaker Tour, handing out $30,000 Platinum Passes as he went, we found some earnest grassroots players who were more than deserving of entry to the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship.

After all, Moneymaker was the perfect person to award such a prize. He’s the embodiment of every recreational player’s dream: satellite into a big tournament, and take it down for life-changing money. It happened to Moneymaker when he qualified for the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event on PokerStars and won it all, becoming a household name and inspiring a generation of poker fans.

Earlier this year it also happened to Ramon Colillas. The gym owner won a Platinum Pass for his performances at small live stops in Spain throughout 2018, and ended up winning the PSPC for more than $5 million back in January.

Now it could be your turn.

The Moneymaker Tour is back for PSPC 2020, and this time it’s gone global.

ROAD TO THE PSPC

With stops planned for the UK, USA, Russia, Canada, Ireland and beyond, Moneymaker is once again able to find some Platinum Pass-worthy winners, this time from around the world.

“The Moneymaker Road to PSPC gives players the opportunity to win big and have a great time without traveling too far from home,” said Moneymaker. “There are not enough words to explain how much fun was had on last year’s Tour, I can’t wait to get back out there. Playing poker and hanging out with people who love the game is memorable enough, then add in the Platinum Pass and opportunity to potentially change someone’s life… it’s going to be awesome!”

Each stop will have affordable buy-ins and huge prizes, most notably the aforementioned Platinum Passes to the PSPC 2020, taking place in Barcelona next August.

A Platinum Pass is worth more than $30,000, and includes the buy-in to the €22,500 PSPC 2020 plus thousands in travel, accommodation and spending money.

The first Moneymaker’s Road to PSPC will take place during European Poker Tour (EPT) Open Sochi in October. The RUB10,500 (approx. $166) buy-in event will play out across three days, from October 11-13, with the winner taking home a coveted Platinum Pass worth more than $30,000.

Each Moneymaker’s Road to PSPC stop will vary in duration and buy-in, and each will add a Platinum Pass to the prizepool to be awarded to the event winner.
